Shuttle buses

On the day of the event Egmond aan Zee will be closed to incoming traffic from 08:00 to 18:00. Between these times you can get to Egmond by shuttle bus, by bike or on foot. Participants and spectators are advised to use the shuttle buses. The shuttles travel straight to the Sporthal De Watertoren sports centre in Egmond aan Zee. The journey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes from Alkmaar and approximately 15 minutes from Heiloo. You can park your car in Alkmaar or Heiloo.

Shuttle tickets

To travel on the shuttle, you need a ticket. Pre-ordered tickets cost € 5.50 each and will be issued with your race bib as a QR-code. Tickets purchased at the departure point cost € 7.00 each. Children under 13 can travel on the shuttle free of charge.

If you decide to purchase another a ticket on the day, please bear in mind that there are likely to be queues at the ticket office at certain times and you cannot pay with a card.

Departure times

Shuttle buses will depart from the pick-up points and travel to Egmond aan Zee approximately every 5 minutes from 08:30 hours until midday.

After the race

Shuttle buses will depart from Sportlaan, near the VV Egmondia football pitch in Egmond aan Zee. The pick-up point is approximately 200 metres from the Sporthal De Watertoren sports centre. Shuttle buses will travel back to Heiloo and Alkmaar from 12:00 to 18:00 hours.

Peak time

Departure queues peak between 14:30 and 16:00 hours. This can mean a long wait at the pick-up point in Egmond aan Zee. This is inconvenient not only for the participants but also for the organisers. If you are not in a hurry, you may prefer to sit in a cafe rather than wait in line between 14:30 and 16:00 hours. More buses will be running during the busiest period. And we hope that this will reduce the waiting time. But Egmond is a coastal village with only one main road, so delays are inevitable.

Public transport

If you are planning to travel by train, we recommend that you get off at Heiloo and travel to Egmond aan Zee on the shuttle. The shuttle pick-up point, which is approximately 100 metres from the station, is signposted from the station.
